Camera Assistant

About the role

Manavsewa Ashram is seeking a motivated Camera Assistant to capture and edit visual content that showcases its humanitarian work. You will work closely with the communications team to produce high‑quality photos and videos for social media, the website, and presentations.

Key responsibilities

• Capture compelling photos and videos of daily activities, events, rescue operations, and reunions.
• Shoot and edit video content for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and the official website.
• Edit raw footage using Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, and Lightroom.
• Develop creative visual stories that highlight the Ashram’s mission and impact.
• Optimize visual assets for each digital platform.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute shoots independently, often under tight deadlines.
• Maintain and archive all photo and video files for documentation.
• Operate cameras, lighting kits, stabilization systems, and audio equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to understand project needs and deliver appropriate visual assets.
• Propose innovative ideas for storytelling and visual engagement.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies, Journalism, Communications, Filmmaking, or a related field.
• Demonstrable portfolio of videography and photo documentation.
• Proficiency in Nepali and English (both written and spoken).
• Strong visual composition eye and ability to translate themes into compelling stories.
• Collaborative attitude with the ability to work independently in diverse environments.
• Respectful representation of people from various cultural backgrounds.
• Understanding of global humanitarian storytelling practices is a plus.
• Willingness to spend up to 60% of time on field visits.
