Carpenter – Hotel Engineering

About the role

The Crowne Plaza Kathmandu Pulchowk is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join its Engineering team. You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and enhancing wooden fixtures and furniture across guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces, ensuring the hotel’s high standards of quality and appearance.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out carpentry repairs, installations, and modifications in guest rooms, public areas, and other hotel facilities.
• Inspect wooden fixtures for damage or wear and perform timely repairs.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and fit wood and related materials using hand and power tools.
• Adjust and repair doors, locks, hinges, handles, drawers, cabinets, and other fittings.
• Support preventive maintenance to extend the life of furniture and fixtures.
• Perform polishing, laminating, minor finishing, and touch‑up work on wooden surfaces.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and coordinate with relevant departments to minimise guest disruption.
• Maintain tools, machinery, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Monitor inventory of wood, hardware, adhesives, and report requirements to the Engineering team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in carpentry repairs, maintenance, and installation within a hospitality or similar environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, following safety and hotel procedures.
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high‑quality workmanship.

Required skills

• Use of hand and power tools for cutting, shaping, and assembling wood.
• Knowledge of wood, hardware, adhesives, and finishing materials.
• Measuring and layout techniques for precise installations.
• Basic maintenance of carpentry tools and equipment.
