Chief Manager – Learning & Development (Automotive)

About the role

We are seeking a senior leader to drive organizational growth and operational excellence by shaping and executing a data‑driven, scalable learning strategy across technical, product, sales, service, and leadership domains within the automotive sector.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual training roadmaps aligned with business KPIs, workforce analytics, and development goals.
• Design and deliver multi‑modal programs (instructor‑led, e‑learning, VR/AR, blended) covering technical product training, sales enablement, service excellence, compliance, and leadership development.
• Conduct comprehensive training needs analyses using performance data, skill matrices, and employee feedback to prioritize skill gaps.
• Measure training ROI with Kirkpatrick & Phillips models, tracking reaction, learning, behavior change, and business impact.
• Lead and mentor L&D professionals, partnering with HR, operations, engineering, and sales leaders to embed learning into performance workflows.
• Oversee LMS administration, content repositories, certification tracking, and knowledge‑management systems.
• Monitor automotive trends (electrification, Industry 4.0) and emerging learning technologies to future‑proof training content.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automotive/Mechanical Engineering, Organizational Development or related field; certifications such as CPLP, ATD PDP, or Agile/Scrum are a plus.
• 8+ years of experience in corporate training or L&D, with at least 5 years in the automotive industry.
• Deep knowledge of automotive systems (ICE, EV, hybrid), manufacturing processes, and quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001).
• Proven stakeholder management, presentation, and facilitation skills with ability to influence senior leaders.
