Concept Artist

About the role

Incessant Rain Studios is seeking a talented Concept Artist who can turn ideas, scripts, and references into compelling visual concepts for characters, environments, props, and cinematic worlds. The role requires strong traditional art fundamentals and the ability to adapt to various visual styles.

Key responsibilities

• Develop concept art, sketches, and visual explorations for characters, environments, props, and scenes.
• Explore composition, lighting, color, mood, and visual style to set project direction.
• Create character concepts with solid anatomy, proportions, poses, expressions, and costume design.
• Design environments and props with accurate perspective, scale, and storytelling.
• Collaborate closely with Art Directors, Directors, and Animation/VFX/3D teams to ensure concepts are production‑ready.
• Refine artwork based on feedback and maintain visual consistency across the project.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in concept art, illustration, animation, VFX, film, games, or a related field.
• Strong foundation in drawing, painting, anatomy, perspective, composition, color theory, and lighting.
• Excellent observational and imaginative drawing abilities.
• Ability to work across different artistic styles and visual directions.
• Strong visual storytelling and ideation skills.
• Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a production environment.
• Portfolio demonstrating traditional art and concept development is essential.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Photoshop, Procreate, or Krita.
• Familiarity with 3D tools such as Blender, Maya, or ZBrush (optional but a plus).
