Data Engineer – Recovery Audit Solutions

About the role

The Data Engineer will design, develop and maintain data‑centric solutions that support recovery audit processes for an international portfolio of clients. Working closely with auditors, client teams and other solution architects, you will translate business requirements into robust, high‑quality software that identifies exceptions, potential lost profits and opportunities for automation.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with auditors, client resources and stakeholders to understand business processes, systems and data.
• Develop and implement T‑SQL stored procedures and SQL Server queries to detect audit exceptions and calculate recovery amounts.
• Design and optimise database structures, ensuring efficient data integration across disparate systems.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities, evaluating emerging technologies for audit solutions.
• Assist in project estimation, work‑plan creation and resource allocation.
• Document project status, prepare reports and share insights on process improvements.
• Uphold software quality standards through peer‑reviews, best‑practice enforcement and support for business users.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience with SQL Server, complex data analysis and T‑SQL stored‑procedure development.
• Strong understanding of relational database design and query performance tuning.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot performance issues and solve complex data problems with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• College degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
