Global IT Manager

About the role

Story Company is seeking a hands‑on Global IT Manager to own and optimise its internal technology landscape, including hardware, software, networks, storage and day‑to‑day support across multiple regions.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain an accurate inventory of all hardware and software, tracking users, locations, warranties and replacement needs.
• Lead purchasing decisions by gathering requirements, comparing options, obtaining quotes and coordinating with finance and vendors.
• Assemble, upgrade and configure Windows and Mac workstations for developers, filmmakers, editors and sound engineers.
• Maintain a central register of software licences and subscriptions, manage renewals and eliminate unused licences.
• Administer Microsoft 365, email, collaboration tools, password management and AI workspaces, ensuring secure access and MFA.
• Manage office networks, Wi‑Fi, internet providers, VPN, shared storage and NAS systems, supporting large‑file transfers for production.
• Implement device updates, endpoint protection, encryption, backups and recovery testing, and document outage procedures.
• Provide organised IT support, prioritising issues, communicating progress and delivering practical guidance to staff.
• Document configurations, procedures and vendor contacts, and develop repeatable setup standards for new regional offices.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on IT support, systems administration or infrastructure experience.
• Strong Mac and Windows administration skills, including hardware troubleshooting and workstation setup.
• Practical experience administering Microsoft 365 and managing user access.
• Solid knowledge of networking (Wi‑Fi, switches, routers, firewalls, DNS, VPN) and storage (NAS, shared storage).
• Experience with device management, patching, endpoint protection, encryption, MFA and backup/recovery processes.
• Excellent organisational skills, commercial judgement and ability to work within approved budgets.
• Fluent written and spoken English with a patient, supportive approach.
