Freight Forwarder

About the role

Ro Himalayan Logistics is seeking a Freight Forwarder to manage and coordinate international shipments from origin to destination. The role involves handling air, sea, road and multimodal freight, ensuring documentation accuracy and providing timely updates to customers and management.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate air, sea, road and multimodal freight shipments from origin to destination.
• Communicate with overseas agents, shipping lines, airlines, transporters, customs agents and customers.
• Obtain and compare freight quotations and book cargo with carriers.
• Prepare, verify and submit shipping documents such as BL, AWB, DO, commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin.
• Monitor shipment status, track ETD/ETA and provide regular updates.
• Work with customs clearance teams to ensure smooth cargo clearance.
• Handle discrepancies, delays, damages or shortages and resolve operational issues.
• Maintain records of shipments, quotations, freight rates and invoices.
• Coordinate with Finance for freight invoices, vendor payments and customer billing.
• Support freight‑rate negotiations and develop relationships with carriers and agents.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Business or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in freight forwarding, shipping, logistics or international trade.
• Strong knowledge of international freight forwarding procedures and customs documentation.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with freight‑forwarding software or ERP systems.
