Freight Forwarder

About the role

Ro Himalayan Logistics is seeking a proactive Freight Forwarder to manage and coordinate international shipments from origin to destination. The role requires strong knowledge of freight forwarding processes, shipping documentation, and customs coordination, combined with excellent communication and follow‑up abilities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate air, sea, road, and multimodal freight shipments from origin to destination.
• Handle end‑to‑end freight forwarding operations, including booking cargo with carriers and preparing all required documentation.
• Communicate with overseas agents, shipping lines, airlines, transporters, customs agents, and customers to ensure smooth operations.
• Obtain, compare, and negotiate freight quotations from carriers and agents.
• Monitor shipment status, provide timely updates, and track ETD, ETA, transshipment, arrival, and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate inland transportation, cargo pickup, delivery, and warehouse operations.
• Resolve shipment discrepancies, delays, damages, and other operational issues.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, quotations, freight rates, invoices, and operational documents.
• Collaborate with the Finance Department on freight invoices, vendor payments, and customer billing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Business or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in freight forwarding, shipping, logistics or international trade.
• Good knowledge of international freight forwarding procedures and customs documentation.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with a good command of written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with freight‑forwarding software or ERP systems (advantageous).
