Freight Forwarding Specialist

About the role

The Freight Forwarding Specialist coordinates and manages domestic and international cargo movements by air, sea and land. Working closely with clients, overseas partners, customs authorities and internal teams, the role ensures smooth end‑to‑end logistics, accurate documentation and high‑quality customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute import and export shipments via air, sea and land freight.
• Arrange bookings with airlines, shipping lines, freight carriers and overseas agents.
• Prepare, review and process shipping documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, air waybills, bills of lading, certificates of origin, delivery orders, customs declarations and insurance paperwork.
• Coordinate customs clearance with brokers and government authorities.
• Monitor shipment progress, provide proactive client updates and resolve delays or customs issues.
• Negotiate freight rates, prepare quotations and recommend cost‑effective shipping solutions.
• Manage door‑to‑door logistics, cargo consolidation, warehousing and final delivery.
• Maintain accurate shipment records using logistics management systems and ensure compliance with Nepal Customs regulations and international trade laws.
• Collaborate with sales, warehouse, finance and operations teams to deliver efficient service.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Trade or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, shipping or customs clearance.
• Familiarity with Nepal Customs procedures and international shipping regulations.
