Ride-Sharing Platform Architect & Technical Consultant

About the role

Tokma Technologies seeks an experienced Ride-Sharing Platform Architect & Technical Consultant to evaluate and enhance its existing ride‑sharing solution. The focus is on improving architecture, real‑time operations, scalability, reliability, and overall rider/driver experience without rebuilding the system from scratch.

Key responsibilities

• Review the current architecture, backend services, mobile apps, APIs, and infrastructure.
• Identify technical gaps, bottlenecks, and scalability issues.
• Optimize the full ride lifecycle: request, driver matching, pickup, trip, completion, cancellation, and status synchronization.
• Enhance real‑time GPS tracking, ETA accuracy, routing, and route recalculation.
• Improve driver dispatching, rider‑driver matching logic, and real‑time communication (WebSockets, SignalR, Firebase, etc.).
• Assess and upgrade map/navigation integrations (Google Maps, Mapbox, HERE).
• Address GPS loss, poor connectivity, backgrounding, driver disconnections, and duplicate requests.
• Recommend backend scalability improvements: caching, queues, databases, APIs, and event‑driven architecture.
• Review pricing models, dynamic pricing, scheduled and multi‑stop rides, driver availability, and geofencing.
• Collaborate with backend, mobile, DevOps, QA, and product teams to produce documentation and a prioritized roadmap.

Required profile

• Strong experience with ride‑sharing, mobility, logistics, or similar real‑time location‑based platforms.
• Deep knowledge of distributed and real‑time systems.
• Proven ability to improve an existing production system without unnecessary replacements.
• Experience with Uber/Lyft‑style systems, dynamic pricing, or NEMT/healthcare transportation is a plus.
