Account Officer – Finance & Accounts

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented, analytical, and strategic Account Officer to join our Finance & Accounts team. The ideal candidate will manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance and financial analysis while providing senior management with accurate, actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting activities including accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations and general ledger entries.
• Prepare timely financial statements, management reports and other financial records.
• Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts and perform variance analysis.
• Monitor cash flow, expenses and financial commitments to support effective planning.
• Lead cost‑control initiatives and identify opportunities for financial efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with Nepalese tax regulations (VAT, TDS, Income Tax) and manage tax filings.
• Coordinate with external auditors and support internal and statutory audit processes.
• Supervise and mentor the Finance & Accounts team, ensuring performance and accountability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field; professional qualification (CA, ACCA) is an advantage.
• 3–5 years of experience in accounting, finance, audit or a similar role, including team supervision and financial reporting.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of financial accounting and reporting.
• Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and cost control.
• In‑depth understanding of Nepalese tax regulations (VAT, TDS, Income Tax) and tax filing.
• Good grasp of audit procedures and internal controls.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP software.
• Ability to prepare and interpret financial statements and management reports.
• Familiarity with Nepal Financial Reporting Standards (NFRS) is a plus.
