Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated and detail‑oriented Accountant to manage day‑to‑day accounting operations for our cooperative. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting financial decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Process, verify and record all receipts and payments.
• Maintain accounting records in line with laws, regulations and accounting standards.
• Prepare financial statements, reports and other accounting documents.
• Prepare and file tax returns, including VAT and TDS.
• Reconcile bank statements and manage bank deposits.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable, monitor outstanding receivables and follow up with clients.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers, customers and third‑party vendors.
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies promptly.
• Support financial forecasting, budgeting and risk analysis.
• Recommend best practices to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Update accounting software, internal databases and spreadsheets.
• Assist during internal and external audits and perform other finance‑related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum of 12 months of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Understanding of statutory compliance, VAT and TDS requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Competence in using spreadsheets for data analysis.
