Accounts Officer

About the role

The Accounts Officer will manage cargo‑related financial transactions for East West Concern, ensuring that all expenses are recorded accurately and in line with signed agreements. This role involves close coordination with clearing agents, customs authorities, and internal teams to maintain reliable financial records.

Key responsibilities

• Verify and approve cargo expenses on a bill‑wise basis.
• Maintain detailed Excel records of cargo expenses by date and brand.
• Enter purchase entries for all consignments into the accounting software.
• Match expense claims with contractual agreements.
• Record bank commissions, insurance, freight, and DO charges, specifying TT/LC numbers.
• Enter NRB cheques in the name of cargo and reconcile related documents.
• Book exchange gains/losses based on LC/TT and close them in the software.
• Prepare, check, and post vouchers of all kinds.
• Train new recruits or interns as required.
• Verify customs documents against the Customs Authority Database.
• Coordinate with clearing agents for reconciliation and related matters.
• Maintain systematic records of bank vouchers, VAT bills, and other supporting documents.
• Perform additional tasks assigned by management across departments.

Required profile

• Minimum 24 months (2 years) of relevant accounting experience, preferably with cargo or logistics expenses.
• Familiarity with accounting standards and documentation verification.
• Ability to train and guide junior staff or interns.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial recording.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tracking and reporting.
• Experience using accounting software for journal entries and reconciliations.
