AI Product Operator, Compliance (Night Shift)

About the role

Niural is building Clara, an AI‑driven compliance agent for its global payroll, Employer of Record and Contractor Management platform. As an AI Product Operator you will own the end‑to‑end development of the compliance engine, translating U.S. HR, payroll and payment regulations into automated, continuously running checks.

Key responsibilities

• Research U.S. compliance requirements across HR, payroll and payments.
• Determine which compliance layers apply to the platform, employers and contractors.
• Identify the data points each check needs and map them to platform data.
• Work with the legal team to resolve exceptions and conflicts, defining a defensible rule hierarchy.
• Build AI‑powered workflows that apply the rules to real‑time data, surfacing issues with clear reasons and source citations.
• Implement model governance, including prompt and model versioning, evaluation suites, and decision logging for auditability.
• Develop internal tools that enable legal, compliance and operations teams to run the checks without engineering assistance.
• Maintain up‑to‑date compliance knowledge as statutes and guidance evolve.

Required profile

• Strong ability to self‑learn complex, unforgiving regulatory domains from primary sources.
• Excellent research skills and comfort working with statutes, official guidance and legal documents.
• Detail‑oriented mindset; a confidently wrong answer is worse than no answer.
• Experience in law, legal‑tech or reg‑tech is a plus but not required.
• Willingness to work night‑shift hours.
