Billing Officer – Finance & Accounts

About the role

The Billing Officer will manage the end‑to‑end invoicing process for the company, ensuring that all sales invoices, credit notes and related documents are accurate, timely and compliant with tax regulations. This role works closely with Sales, Operations, Warehouse and Finance teams to resolve billing issues and support month‑end closing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue sales invoices, bills, credit and debit notes.
• Validate sales orders, delivery notes, purchase orders and contracts before billing.
• Maintain organized records of all billing documents and customer accounts.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure correct pricing, taxes and discounts.
• Monitor outstanding invoices and assist the Collections team with payment follow‑up.
• Reconcile billing data with sales, delivery and accounting records regularly.
• Generate billing‑related MIS reports for management.
• Handle customer queries regarding invoices, adjustments and payment documentation.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities related to receivables.
• Identify billing errors or process gaps and suggest improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Management or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in billing, invoicing or accounts receivable.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with multiple departments.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience with ERP/accounting software such as Tally, SAP or Odoo.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and billing procedures.
