Business Manager - Nepal

About the role

Godrej Consumer Products Limited, part of the Godrej Industries Group, is hiring a Business Manager for its Nepal business. The role carries overall P&L responsibility (top and bottom line) and covers sales and distribution, marketing and demand planning, working closely with India-based supply chain and commercial teams. The position is based in Kathmandu.

Key responsibilities

• Build the branded business and go-to-market strategy for general trade and modern trade in Nepal and Bhutan
• Oversee the sales ecosystem using Sales Force Automation in the country
• Manage importers strongly and oversee shipments to them and their inventory levels
• Lead marketing activities, advertising development and media planning, and orchestrate new product launches
• Lead sales teams and ensure delivery of primary and secondary targets to local distributors
• Work with India-based supply chain and commercial teams on sales, distribution and demand planning
• Travel 7-8 days outside Kathmandu to local markets

Required profile

• Postgraduate degree from a reputable university
• 6-8 years of experience, including FMCG GT sales or regional trade marketing
• Experience in Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Indonesia or similar markets is an added plus

• Strong negotiation skills in managing importers
• Commercial acumen and strong analytics, with the ability to set up controls and processes in a fast-growing organisation
• Good communication, result orientation, execution excellence and team management skills
