Client Accountant – Mid Level

About the role

Shankar Associates, Chartered Accountants (SACA) is seeking a dynamic mid‑level Client Accountant to join its audit, tax and consulting wing in Kathmandu. You will be responsible for delivering end‑to‑end accounting, tax, payroll and reporting services for a portfolio of clients.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, cash‑bank transactions and fixed‑asset records.
• Prepare journal entries, adjustments, accruals and provisions; perform bank, vendor and customer reconciliations.
• Handle month‑end and year‑end closing activities and ensure proper supporting documentation.
• Prepare and file VAT, TDS and other statutory tax returns; calculate and process tax payments.
• Process monthly payroll, calculate statutory deductions (TDS, SSF) and prepare payroll reports.
• Produce MIS, management and financial statements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Assist clients with budgeting, cash‑flow monitoring and variance analysis.
• Coordinate with clients on accounting, tax and payroll matters; review junior accountants’ work and provide guidance.
• Utilise accounting software such as Tally to record transactions and generate reports.

Required profile

• Mid‑level experience in accounting, taxation and payroll.
• Strong knowledge of Nepalese tax regulations (VAT, TDS) and statutory compliance.
• Ability to supervise junior staff and manage client relationships.
• Detail‑oriented with good analytical skills.
