Data and Platform Manager

About the role

The Data and Platform Manager will lead the product strategy, planning and execution for the Red List of Ecosystems digital platform. This role combines IT product management with data stewardship to ensure the platform meets scientific, user and organisational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a long‑term product roadmap, defining vision, success metrics and phased delivery plans.
• Gather requirements, translate scientific needs into technical specifications and oversee user‑centred design.
• Identify and prioritize AI/ML use cases, collaborate on safe AI features and define quality assurance processes.
• Coordinate development sprints, manage back‑log, and ensure integration with existing IUCN systems.
• Act as data steward, establishing governance, validation rules, version control, audit trails and disaster‑recovery plans.
• Engage stakeholders through consultations, feedback sessions and capacity‑building activities.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent in computer science, information systems, environmental science or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in product management, technical coordination or data‑intensive digital platforms.
• At least 2 years working in a multinational environment.
• Proven ability to translate scientific requirements into clear technical user stories.
