Finance Officer – NEPAS Project in Kathmandu

About the role

The Finance Officer will support the financial management of the SUNAULO project, a partnership between the Nepal Paediatric Society (NEPAS) and the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. Working four days a week from the NEPAS office in Kathmandu, you will ensure accurate accounting, budgeting and compliance for the project and day‑to‑day organisational activities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, vouchers and supporting documents.
• Process payments, bank transactions, petty‑cash and journal entries.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, cash‑flow statements and financial reports for management and donors.
• Support preparation, monitoring and revision of project and operational budgets.
• Ensure compliance with Nepal labour, tax and Social Security Fund regulations, and organise statutory payments.
• Assist internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
• Liaise with programme staff, banks, vendors, auditors and government agencies.
• Support procurement verification and donor reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in finance, accounting or a related field.
• Experience in financial management within NGOs or donor‑funded projects.
• Strong knowledge of Nepalese tax, labour and social security regulations.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software (manual or digital).
• Budget preparation and financial reporting.
• Bank reconciliation and cash‑flow management.
• Tax compliance and audit support.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contract until May 2029 (four days per week).
• Salary of EUR 317 per month (paid over 13 months, including festival allowance).
