General Manager / Operations Head

About the role

The General Manager / Operations Head will report directly to the Managing Director and lead the daily business operations of River Group. This senior executive role is responsible for driving operational efficiency, overseeing administrative functions, and implementing the company’s strategic vision.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring high satisfaction and success.
• Streamline candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding to reduce time‑to‑fill.
• Provide day‑to‑day leadership to align the service organization with the company’s mission and values.
• Measure and report on the effectiveness of internal and external processes.
• Develop, communicate, and implement growth strategies and operational processes.
• Collaborate with senior management to design systems that support rapid growth.
• Track team productivity, mentor staff, and foster a high‑performance culture.
• Liaise with government, NGOs, and private institutions to ensure smooth recruitment cycles.
• Oversee line managers, staff, candidates, and deployed workers, providing appropriate solutions.
• Maintain confidential candidate and worker records and generate operational reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of senior‑level operational or general management experience.
• Proven ability to lead large teams and drive performance improvements.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience in developing and executing growth strategies.
• High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
