Legal Assistant – Support Legal Operations

About the role

The Legal Assistant will work within MHPL’s Legal Department, providing essential support to the Legal Head and other teams. The role involves drafting, reviewing and managing a variety of legal documents, ensuring compliance with regulations, and representing the company in legal forums.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and prepare legal documents for vehicles, heavy machines and commercial equipment.
• Assist the Legal Head in resolving disputes and legal issues.
• Prepare, review and finalise company policies, contracts, loan deeds and other legal forms such as guarantor forms, promissory notes and consent letters.
• Represent the company in courts, quasi‑judicial bodies and government offices.
• Prepare bilateral and tri‑party agreements as required.
• Draft minutes, letters, agreements and other legal correspondence.
• Verify authenticity of legal deeds, company records and documents attached to loan files.
• Provide training to staff on legal formalities and documentation.
• Assist other departments with legal and non‑legal document preparation.
• Maintain proper documentation, file management and record‑keeping, including black‑listed customer records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Management or BALLB.
• Ability to work under supervision while handling independent responsibilities.
