Legal Officer

About the role

Kharel Law Group, operating under the brand Emigrate Lawyers, is seeking detail‑oriented Legal Officers to support Australian lawyers and senior legal staff from its Kathmandu office. The role involves legal research, drafting, document review and client communication in both English and Nepali.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and assist with case preparation for Australian migration and family law matters.
• Draft, review and organise correspondence, legal submissions, statements, applications and client evidence.
• Manage client onboarding, information gathering, document requests and maintain accurate client files.
• Update CRM, case‑management and document‑management systems and prepare legal notes and research summaries.

Required profile

• Capable, professional and detail‑oriented with a genuine interest in a long‑term international legal career.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Nepali.
• Ability to meet deadlines, follow firm procedures and adapt to legal technology.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM and case‑management systems.
• Experience in legal research, drafting and document review.
