Mechanical Engineer – Construction Projects

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support planning, design, installation and maintenance of mechanical systems on construction and infrastructure projects. The role ensures quality, safety and efficiency while working closely with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a comprehensive register of all project equipment, tracking status, utilization, fuel consumption and operating hours.
• Serve as the single point of contact for all mechanical issues, coordinating equipment deployment, mobilization and demobilization with project management.
• Supervise mechanical personnel, assign duties, approve rosters, monitor performance and arrange training on safe operation.
• Log mechanical issues, breakdowns and corrective actions, analyse root causes and provide regular reports on downtime and repair costs.
• Implement preventive maintenance schedules, manage spare parts inventory and ensure compliance with safety, environmental and statutory requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering within construction or infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to manage equipment records, supervise teams and coordinate with suppliers and contractors.
• Strong understanding of preventive maintenance, safety regulations and statutory compliance.
