National Early Learning Consultant – ECED & Grade 1 Transition (Remote, travel)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a National Early Learning Consultant to design and refine a Structured Pedagogy‑Informed ECED Package and a Grade 1 Transition Package for Nepal. The role is remote with required travel to Nepal and focuses on improving early learning quality and school readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Develop an integrated ECED and Grade 1 transition package aligned with Nepal’s Integrated Curriculum and Early Learning Development Standards.
• Create structured daily activity plans (192 days for ECED and at least the first 90 days for Grade 1).
• Design formative assessment tools, coaching guidance, and implementation manuals for teachers, schools, and local governments.
• Produce parent and caregiver engagement materials and school‑readiness resources.
• Support pilot testing, gather feedback, and refine all materials.
• Collaborate closely with UNICEF staff and relevant national stakeholders.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Early Childhood Education, Curriculum Development, or a related field.
• Proven experience in designing curriculum, pedagogy frameworks, and assessment tools.
• Experience working in low‑resource or government‑led education settings.
• Ability to travel to Nepal and work remotely.
• Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills in English.
