Plantation Project Developer & Forest Technician

About the role

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Plantation Project Developer & Forest Technician to oversee and scale agro‑forestry implementation on private lands and restore degraded community forests, enhancing land resilience across Nepal.

Key responsibilities

• Manage tree‑planting projects, including agro‑forestry and community forests, from design and registration to ongoing monitoring.
• Identify and develop new agro‑forestry sites, forge partnerships with smallholder farmers, and locate large‑scale (>25 ha) public lands for restoration.
• Conduct field visits for training, supervise forest guards, and handle project geotagging within the GI application.
• Support fundraising by drafting proposals and reporting on organizational projects.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Forestry or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in Nepal’s forestry sector, including large‑scale plantation management.
• Strong knowledge of Nepal’s vegetation species and forest ecosystems.
• Willingness to travel extensively for field setup and partnership building.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Nepali.
• Valid two‑wheeler driving licence and ability to travel long distances by motorbike.
• Proven experience working with local communities and strong networks in the forestry sector.
• Demonstrated proposal writing, project management, reporting and problem‑solving abilities.
