Production Manager

About the role

The Production Manager will lead the manufacturing unit to meet production targets while ensuring product quality, food safety, and operational efficiency. This role collaborates closely with cross‑functional teams to drive new product development and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and monitor production schedules to achieve targets efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with quality, food safety, hygiene, HACCP, GMP and other quality‑control standards.
• Oversee production, quality, maintenance, inventory and overall operational performance.
• Manage manpower, raw materials, machinery and other production resources.
• Lead new product development from formulation through trials, testing, packaging and commercialisation.
• Identify new ingredients, technologies, market trends and innovation opportunities.
• Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Procurement, QA and other departments.
• Ensure timely repair, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Monitor production costs, budgets, wastage, productivity and resource utilisation.
• Maintain quality‑system documentation and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Prepare monthly production, operational and performance reports for management.
• Conduct staff training and promote continuous improvement in productivity and efficiency.

Required profile

• BTech/MTech in Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field; MBA in Operations preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in production and manufacturing, with at least 3‑4 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Strong hands‑on experience in production planning, process management, quality control, food safety and cost management.
