Senior Civil Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to lead underground works for a major hydropower project in Sindhupalchok, Nepal. The role offers the chance to shape critical infrastructure and work closely with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise excavation, support installation, and reinforcement for underground structures, ensuring schedule and quality compliance.
• Oversee construction of vertical shafts and surge shafts, focusing on concrete lining and specialized excavation methods.
• Verify that all works follow approved geological designs, technical specifications, and safety standards.
• Monitor construction quality, progress, and resource utilization, and prepare regular progress reports for stakeholders.
• Coordinate with geologists, contractors, and site teams to resolve issues and keep the project on track.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
• Minimum 5 years of experience on hydropower construction projects.
• Proven expertise in underground powerhouses, vertical shafts, surge shafts, and drill‑and‑blast excavation.
• Strong knowledge of underground support systems and structural drawing interpretation.
• Willingness to travel frequently between Kathmandu and the project site.
