Vice Principal (Academic Head)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and visionary Vice Principal (Academic Head) to lead the academic operations of a well‑established school in Kathmandu. The successful candidate will provide strategic academic leadership, ensure excellence in teaching and learning, mentor faculty, and foster a culture of continuous improvement while complying with Nepal’s educational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall academic leadership across all grades, plan and review curriculum in line with the National Curriculum Framework and school priorities.
• Lead academic quality assurance, set standards and monitor outcomes, ensuring competency‑based, student‑centred delivery.
• Conduct regular classroom observations, give constructive feedback, mentor new and under‑performing teachers, and design a Continuing Professional Development programme.
• Plan and manage the school timetable, oversee internal assessments, examinations and result processing, and align practices with the Continuous Assessment System.
• Own student discipline policies, handle escalated cases, ensure a safe and inclusive environment, and monitor attendance and welfare.
• Oversee day‑to‑day academic operations including zero period, class routines, proxy and substitute arrangements, and staff attendance reporting.
• Plan, coordinate and execute extracurricular and co‑curricular activities, inter‑school competitions and academic clubs.

Required profile

• Minimum five years (60 months) of experience in academic leadership or senior teaching administration.
• Demonstrated ability to manage curriculum, assessment and teacher development in a school setting.
• Familiarity with Nepal’s educational regulations and standards.
