Volunteer Biomedical Scientist / Medical Doctor in Nepal

About the role

This on‑site volunteer position supports clinical and public health initiatives in Nepal. The role is open to qualified Biomedical Scientists or Medical Doctors who wish to contribute to patient assessment, basic diagnostics, and health education while working with local healthcare providers.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and interpret patient data, including history taking and basic physical examinations.
• Assist in screening, outreach, and health education programs.
• Document findings and support the development of treatment or prevention protocols under supervision.
• Participate in small‑scale research or quality‑improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate records and attend multidisciplinary meetings.

Required profile

• Relevant academic qualification (e.g., MBBS, MD, MSc, BMLT, CMLT, Health Assistant) recognized in the applicant’s home country.
• Foundational clinical skills appropriate to the volunteer’s scope of practice.
• Strong interest or experience in public health, community medicine, or global health, especially in resource‑limited settings.
• Ability to follow ethical guidelines, maintain patient confidentiality, and work within local regulatory frameworks.
• Adaptability, cultural sensitivity, and willingness to work in challenging environments.
• Basic computer literacy for documentation and data management.
• Commitment to a clearly defined volunteer period and compliance with travel, health, and safety requirements.
