Audit Assistant (Mid-level)

MAP Associates, Chartered Accountant is seeking a motivated mid‑level Audit Assistant to join its dynamic team in Kathmandu. This role offers the chance to deepen expertise in audit, financial reporting, and tax compliance while supporting a forward‑thinking organization.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and organize audit documentation in accordance with NSA/ISA standards.
• Conduct detailed reviews of client financial accounts and verify the accuracy of statements and supporting schedules.
• Maintain audit files, ensure regulatory compliance, and prepare audit working papers.
• Prepare and file Value Added Tax (VAT) returns with the appropriate tax authorities.
• Prepare comprehensive Income Tax Returns (ITR) for individuals and entities and ensure timely statutory filings.
• Monitor tax compliance deadlines and maintain tax calendars.
• Review general ledgers, trial balances, and subsidiary ledgers; reconcile bank statements and identify discrepancies.
• Analyze account balances and transactions for accuracy and appropriateness.
• Provide recommendations on financial controls and accounting processes.
• Assist with financial planning, forecasting, and maintain professional relationships with clients and regulators.

Required profile

• Minimum 36 months (3 years) of audit experience.
• Familiarity with Nepalese VAT and Income Tax filing requirements.
• Knowledge of auditing standards (NSA/ISA) and regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical abilities for financial statement review and bank reconciliation.
