Bare Developer – C & JavaScript (Remote, Worldwide)

About the role

Tether is looking for a Bare Developer who is comfortable writing both C and JavaScript. You will join the Bare team that builds and maintains the runtime and its ecosystem of native modules, enabling platform APIs to be accessed from JavaScript across phones, laptops, servers, and constrained devices.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and ship native modules such as bare‑bluetooth, bare‑tcp, bare‑fs, and bare‑crypto.
• Write native addons that bridge platform APIs into JavaScript.
• Debug and troubleshoot code across multiple operating systems.
• Maintain a small, correct, and performant runtime.
• Own modules end‑to‑end from concept through production release.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in C programming.
• Solid experience with JavaScript development.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
• Excellent English communication skills.
