Cleaner - Suswastha Project Office

About the role

Lutheran World Relief, part of Corus International, has been present in Nepal since 2013. It is hiring a Cleaner for the Suswastha Project office to keep the environment clean, hygienic and safe for staff, visitors and operations. The role covers routine cleaning, waste management and office sanitation, with no direct reports.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain office floors, carpets, windows, furniture and common areas.
• Empty trash bins and ensure proper disposal of office waste.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchens and pantry areas.
• Maintain cleaning supplies and report inventory needs to the supervisor.
• Follow cleaning schedules to keep hygiene standards consistent.
• Assist in setting up and tidying meeting rooms and event spaces.
• Report maintenance or safety issues such as leaks, broken furniture or electrical problems.
• Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning equipment and materials.
• Perform additional cleaning tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Secondary education completion is helpful; previous cleaning or janitorial experience is helpful.
• Ability to perform physical work such as bending, standing and walking.
• Punctual, reliable, able to follow instructions and work in a team.
• Basic English skills desired; good interpersonal and customer-service skills.
• Authorization to work in the country of assignment, if applicable.

Required skills

• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, materials and equipment.
• Ability to learn new tasks, complete them independently and communicate verbally and in writing.
• Proficiency in using computer software for assigned tasks.

The organization follows an in-person work policy, Monday to Friday, with availability outside normal hours or on weekends as required. Working conditions may involve high-security risk, very basic living conditions and exposure to infectious diseases.
