Consultant Pathologist

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Consultant Pathologist to provide expert interpretation of laboratory findings, perform hands‑on tests and support research activities at our laboratory in Surkhet.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and report gynecological cytology smears with accurate and timely results.
• Conduct Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) procedures and report findings.
• Carry out cervical smear and fluid cytology tests, adhering to established guidelines.
• Assess training needs of laboratory staff and deliver continuous professional development sessions.
• Organize and lead routine training on Medical Lab Technology updates.
• Review laboratory procedures to ensure high‑quality examination results.
• Evaluate laboratory performance regularly for accuracy, reliability and consistency.
• Participate in external and internal quality control programs.
• Evaluate employee performance and recommend rewards for high‑performing staff.
• Provide consultation to other departments and healthcare providers regarding test results.
• Collaborate with laboratory management to improve operations and achieve departmental goals.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented professional with strong analytical abilities.
• Minimum of 5 years (60 months) relevant experience.
• Proven experience in training and mentoring laboratory personnel.
• Familiarity with statutory compliance and quality assurance standards.
