Deputy Operations Manager (French) – Kathmandu

About the role

Intrepid Travel is looking for a French‑speaking Deputy Operations Manager to support the Operations Manager in delivering exceptional travel experiences for French‑speaking travellers in Nepal. The role is based on‑site in Kathmandu and involves coordinating all stages of the journey, from preparation to on‑ground delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary French‑language liaison between Tour Leaders, travellers, partners and internal teams.
• Provide day‑to‑day operational support, handle unexpected challenges and ensure timely, accurate communication.
• Develop and coach the Tour Leader community through training and performance feedback.
• Contribute to trip improvements, new product ideas, budgeting and reporting.
• Support wider DMC Operations team activities and step in where business needs arise.

Required profile

• Extensive travel experience in Nepal, preferably with mountain‑region trip leadership and logistics knowledge.
• Fluency in French and English with strong written, verbal and translation abilities.
• Experience supporting French‑speaking travellers, Tour Leaders or travel partners.
• Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritise workloads.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
