Duty Engineer – Hotel Operations

About the role

The Duty Engineer is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all engineering systems at InterContinental Pokhara Resort. Working on a shift basis, you will ensure guest and employee satisfaction through reliable facility performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and adjust HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems.
• Perform predictive, planned, preventative and routine maintenance rounds and respond to service requests.
• Manage refrigeration, heat exchangers, hot‑water systems and related mechanical equipment.
• Conduct facility inspections, supervise vendor work and report conditions affecting occupancy and operations.
• Promote safe practices, recommend improvements and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Required profile

• College or advanced vocational training.
• At least four years of experience in building maintenance, construction or equivalent.
• Specialised expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical and carpentry fields.
• Relevant certifications such as Level 3 EPA, HVAC/refrigeration, licensed plumber or journeyman electrician/carpenter may be required.
• Hotel experience is preferred.
