Education Officer (Learning and Skills)

About the role

The Education Officer will support UNICEF's foundational learning, skills, adolescent development and non‑formal education initiatives in Nepal. Reporting to the Education Specialist and under the overall supervision of the Education Chief, the role contributes to programme design, implementation, monitoring and knowledge management.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical, operational and administrative support throughout the programming process for learning and skills interventions.
• Collaborate with federal, provincial and local government counterparts, UNICEF field offices and partners to scale up non‑formal education, alternative learning pathways and school‑to‑work transition programmes.
• Support evidence generation, documentation of good practices and development of advocacy and knowledge products.

Required profile

• University degree in education, psychology, sociology or a related field.
• Minimum two years of professional experience in programme planning, management or research in education.
• Experience working with provincial and local governments on education delivery.
• Fluency in English and Nepali.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
