Electrical Engineer – Mining & Mineral Processing

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance of electrical systems at our multi‑mineral mining and processing plant in Palung, Bagmati Province. The role involves ensuring reliable power supply for crushing, conveyors, pumps and other critical equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance of all electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot and maintain motors, generators, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, control panels and distribution boards.
• Diagnose electrical faults, perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime.
• Monitor power consumption and equipment performance, identifying opportunities for energy efficiency and cost optimisation.
• Support installation, testing, commissioning, modification and upgrading of electrical systems.
• Review electrical drawings, single‑line diagrams, wiring diagrams and technical specifications.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, LOTO and permit‑to‑work procedures.
• Coordinate with mechanical, production, mining, HSE teams, contractors and equipment suppliers.
• Supervise electricians, technicians and contractors, providing technical guidance.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, breakdowns, equipment history and material requirements.

Required profile

• B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical Engineering with 3–5 years of relevant experience in mining, mineral processing or similar heavy industry.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills with hands‑on experience in industrial electrical maintenance.
• Ability to work effectively in a mining and mineral‑processing environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Maintenance of motors, generators, transformers, switchgear and MCCs.
• PLC and VFD programming and troubleshooting.
• Instrumentation and industrial automation knowledge.
• Proficiency with electrical design/maintenance software.
• MS Office for reporting and documentation.
