Enterprise Development Expert

About the role

Winrock is looking for an Enterprise Development Expert to support a forthcoming ADB‑funded project in Nepal. The role will focus on implementing the Gender Action Plan, strengthening gender equality and social inclusion within the Nepal Electricity Authority, and helping women and excluded groups use energy safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and guide baseline surveys on livelihoods, income and entrepreneurial potential.
• Conduct capacity and needs assessments for livelihood‑enhancement and skill‑development training.
• Review and apply selection criteria, orient selected trainees and their families.
• Develop training materials, case studies and deliver trainings to energy‑based entrepreneurs in Province 2.
• Perform market analysis, identify relevant technical and vocational courses, and support trainee enrollment.
• Identify employment opportunities, SME financing options and provide post‑training support.
• Facilitate discussions with relevant agencies and contribute to knowledge products.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in business or a related social‑science discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in social development, preferably in energy programmes.
• Proven ability to develop standards and systems for energy‑based livelihood and vocational training in rural settings.
• Strong networking skills with field and central‑level stakeholders.
• Experience designing and conducting surveys, needs assessments and market assessments.
