Food Technologist

About the role

The Food Technologist will lead the development of new food products and enhance existing formulations while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role involves close collaboration with quality, production, and supply teams to deliver high‑quality, cost‑effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new food products and improve existing formulations.
• Conduct research on ingredients, processing techniques, and packaging.
• Perform laboratory tests and product trials to ensure quality and consistency.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
• Prepare product specifications, recipes, and manufacturing instructions.
• Monitor production processes and troubleshoot quality‑related issues.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to maintain product standards.
• Evaluate raw materials and alternative ingredients as needed.
• Conduct shelf‑life studies and stability testing.
• Work with suppliers to source suitable ingredients and packaging materials.
• Support cost‑reduction initiatives without compromising quality.
• Maintain documentation related to product development and regulatory compliance.
• Assist in customer complaint investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Train production staff on new products and processing methods.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related field.
• 4‑5 years of experience in the FMCG or food manufacturing industry.
• Knowledge of food processing, preservation, and quality management systems.
• Familiarity with food safety standards such as HACCP and GMP.
• Understanding of food regulations and labeling requirements.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
