L2 Technical Support Engineer – Data Center (Rotational Shifts)

About the role

Kalash Services is seeking an experienced L2 Technical Support Engineer to join its Data Center and Network Operations Center in Matatirtha, Kathmandu. You will work on‑site, monitoring servers and networks, resolving escalated incidents, and ensuring continuous service availability across all shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain servers, virtual machines, and network equipment in a 24/7 environment.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues that cannot be handled by L1 support.
• Perform on‑site visits to customer locations or regional edge data centers as required.
• Document incidents, actions taken, and produce regular reports.
• Collaborate with L1 teams to provide guidance and improve escalation processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress).
• Minimum 2 years of relevant IT support experience.
• Ability to work rotational shifts, including overnight on‑site coverage.
• Valid two‑wheeler driving licence and reliable two‑wheeler for site visits.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work under pressure during critical incidents.

Required skills

• Solid understanding of the OSI model, TCP/IP, subnets, routing and switching.
• Intermediate administration of Linux (Red Hat, Debian) and Microsoft Windows Server.
• Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper‑V.
• Proficiency in log analysis and L1/L2 ticket troubleshooting.
