Mechanical Technical Writer and Designer

About the role

Suvedas Tech Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a Mechanical Technical Writer and Designer to produce accurate technical documentation, engineering drawings, and mechanical design content. The role combines technical writing with hands‑on CAD design, requiring the creation of 2D and 3D models and clear, structured documentation for engineering and maintenance use.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical documentation, engineering reports and mechanical documentation.
• Create and modify 2D engineering drawings and 3D mechanical models using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Inventor.
• Develop assembly, fabrication, component, sectional and exploded‑view drawings.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and design checks related to dimensions, loads, material selection and mechanical performance.
• Convert sketches, calculations and design information into clear, technically accurate drawings and documentation.
• Produce technical illustrations, diagrams, schematics and annotated drawings for engineering and maintenance purposes.
• Incorporate revisions, design changes, redline comments and feedback into drawings and documents.
• Coordinate with engineering and project teams to collect and verify technical information.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Technical Writing or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Inventor.
• Understanding of mechanical drawings, engineering documentation and basic mechanical design principles.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, sketches, calculations and engineering specifications.
• Strong technical writing, documentation and communication skills with high attention to detail.
