MEP Project Engineer – Luxury Hotel

About the role

The MEP Project Engineer will lead the planning, design and supervision of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for the five‑star Scion Hotel (Hyatt Palace) in Lalitpur, Nepal. The role ensures that all MEP installations meet luxury hospitality standards, local codes and project specifications while coordinating closely with architects, structural engineers, contractors and vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Review and coordinate MEP designs, shop drawings and specifications, ensuring alignment with brand standards and guest‑room aesthetics.
• Supervise contractor activities on site, monitor testing and commissioning of HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing and fire‑protection systems.
• Enforce fire, life‑safety and building‑code compliance throughout all project phases.
• Lead preventive and predictive maintenance programmes for plant equipment, driving energy‑efficiency and sustainability initiatives such as LEED or Earth Check.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of MEP project management experience, with at least 5 years on large‑scale luxury hotel developments.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, budgets and vendor contracts in a construction environment.
