Monitoring and Evaluation Officer – Nepal (Open to Nationals)

About the role

The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will lead the M&E component of iDE’s projects in Nepal, ensuring accurate data collection, reporting and analysis to support evidence‑based decision‑making. Based in Kathmandu, the officer will supervise field staff, develop tools and maintain the project’s monitoring systems.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor and guide field M&E staff and monitor field‑level activities for accurate reporting.
• Prepare project reports and maintain databases in accordance with donor standards.
• Facilitate district and field teams in reporting progress against the Detailed Implementation Plan.
• Develop and update monitoring tools and provide capacity‑building on data collection and reporting.
• Provide technical back‑stopping to project staff for timely and effective reporting.
• Ensure compliance with M&E reporting, documentation requirements and donor guidelines.
• Support and maintain existing MIS systems and related documentation.
• Oversee the TLTN project to ensure timely completion within budget and scope.
• Represent iDE in M&E meetings, workshops and sharing events.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the organisation.

Required profile

• Open to Nepalese nationals only.
• Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation of development projects.
• Experience supervising and mentoring field staff.
• Familiarity with donor reporting guidelines and documentation standards.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.

Required skills

• Experience with MIS and database management.
