Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Manager

About the role

The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Manager will provide technical leadership to strengthen Action For Nepal’s MEAL system. Working from Kathmandu with regular travel to project districts, the role ensures that project performance is systematically monitored, high‑quality data are collected and managed, and evidence is used to inform decision‑making, improve programs, and promote accountability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve the organization’s MEAL framework, tools, and processes.
• Integrate MEAL components into project design, proposals, implementation, and reporting.
• Oversee baseline, mid‑line, end‑line, and other assessments, ensuring timely data collection and analysis.
• Maintain data quality standards and manage digital data systems.
• Produce evidence‑based reports for donors and stakeholders.
• Document lessons learned, best practices, and promote a culture of learning and accountability across the organization.
• Collaborate with program teams, field staff, implementing partners, government agencies, and donors.

Required profile

• Qualified professional with at least 3 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning within the development or humanitarian sector.
• Demonstrated ability to lead results‑based monitoring and data management initiatives.
• Strong analytical skills and experience producing high‑quality reports for donors.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with diverse stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel frequently to project sites across Nepal.
