Paralegal – Property Law Support (Kathmandu)

About the role

AMS Lawyers, an Australian full‑service law firm, is looking for a detail‑oriented Paralegal to join its team in Kathmandu. Working under the direct supervision of Australian solicitors, you will support the firm’s conveyancing practice and handle a range of legal administrative tasks for property transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the conveyancing process for Australian property transactions, including preparing settlement documents, reviewing contracts and tracking deadlines.
• Draft and format legal documents such as sale contracts, deeds, statutory declarations and client letters as directed.
• Manage incoming and outgoing email correspondence, update client records and ensure timely entries in the firm’s systems.
• Maintain accurate digital files and client records in line with Australian legal standards.
• Support matter opening, compliance checks and client onboarding (KYC/VOI) procedures.
• Coordinate with external parties – settlement agents, mortgage brokers and real‑estate professionals – as instructed.
• Prepare billing instructions, timesheets and assist with file archiving.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB preferred) or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in a legal support or paralegal role, preferably in property or commercial law.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Ability to work independently while staying aligned with an Australia‑based team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with legal practice software such as LEAP or PEXA.
