Program Director & Project Manager (Nonprofit)

About the role

This full‑time position leads a dynamic nonprofit program that supports communities recovering from disasters and helps children return to school. Reporting to the International Recovery Manager, the role oversees strategic development, budgeting, and delivery of construction‑focused projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and accountability for program strategy, scope, quality, impact, timeline and budget.
• Develop, manage and continuously review detailed implementation plans, milestones, timelines and budgets using Salesforce, MS Project and financial tracking tools.
• Ensure project delivery meets donor, technical, quality and community standards while staying within approved budgets.
• Recruit, onboard, train and manage a diverse staff team of 3‑5 reports, including site coordinators and logistics/finance staff.
• Establish and communicate work, quality and safety practices across all sites; act as technical lead for construction execution.
• Develop, implement and review health, safety, security, emergency and evacuation procedures.
• Lead capacity‑building and technical training for site supervisors, masons and other field staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale, disaster‑recovery or construction programs in a nonprofit environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to empower and develop diverse teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt plans to evolving community needs.
