Program Manager – Environmental Health Consultant (Nepal)

About the role

The Program Manager (Consultant) will lead Pure Earth’s programme in Nepal to reduce lead and other toxic metal exposure. Reporting to the Regional Director, Asia, the role coordinates with government agencies, technical partners, and Pure Earth headquarters to design, implement and monitor evidence‑based interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Support strategic direction and execution of Pure Earth initiatives in Nepal, aligning with host‑country and donor priorities.
• Develop and oversee work plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, managing staff and consultants.
• Engage with government agencies to promote regulatory solutions and support the development of national policies on toxic metal management.
• Collaborate with partners to review existing policies and develop new regulations addressing toxic pollution.
• Coordinate source‑analysis studies, response plans, and exposure‑mitigation activities with technical experts.
• Oversee monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) processes and produce regular progress reports.

Required profile

• University degree in environmental health, public health, environmental science or a related field.
• Proven experience managing environmental programmes in low‑ and middle‑income countries.
• Experience working with government bodies and multi‑stakeholder partnerships.
• Strong project management, budgeting and reporting skills.
• Ability to travel within Nepal and work in multicultural settings.
