Purchasing Officer – International Procurement

About the role

We are hiring a Purchasing Officer to manage domestic and international procurement activities for our manufacturing operations in Kathmandu. The role involves overseeing the full purchase cycle, from material requirement planning to supplier coordination and delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Handle domestic and international procurement activities for manufacturing requirements.
• Manage the purchase process from material requirements and supplier sourcing to PO placement and delivery.
• Identify and coordinate with international suppliers and vendors.
• Source and evaluate suppliers based on quality, price, product specifications, reliability, and delivery terms.
• Obtain and compare international quotations and negotiate pricing and commercial terms.
• Coordinate with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal departments for timely delivery of materials.
• Maintain proper procurement documentation, supplier records, and purchase‑related reports.
• Monitor market prices and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Support smooth and timely procurement of materials required for manufacturing operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in procurement/purchasing within a manufacturing industry.
• Prior experience in international procurement or sourcing.
• Strong understanding of the end‑to‑end purchase process.
• Experience in supplier selection, evaluation, and vendor management.
• Good negotiation, communication, coordination, and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of import procedures, international suppliers, and logistics is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel.
