QA Engineer – Automation Focused

About the role

Sajilo Life is building a retail‑first digital ecosystem and needs an experienced QA Engineer who can own the quality assurance function across its product suite. The role combines manual testing, test planning, defect management and extensive automation of UI and API tests.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute functional, integration, system, sanity, smoke and regression testing for assigned products.
• Design, develop and maintain UI and API automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Playwright or Cypress.
• Automate critical regression scenarios, build reusable test utilities and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Validate RESTful APIs, authentication, authorization and error handling using Postman or REST‑assured.
• Manage defect lifecycle, perform root‑cause analysis and work closely with developers to resolve issues.
• Validate backend data with SQL queries and ensure data consistency across layers.
• Conduct basic load, performance and security testing with JMeter, k6 and Burp Suite.
• Identify gaps in QA processes, propose improvements and promote quality ownership across teams.

Required profile

• 3–4 years of professional software quality assurance experience in a production environment.
• Proven ability to independently manage QA activities, plan testing and drive automation.
• Strong analytical skills for defect analysis, log inspection and root‑cause investigation.
• Experience working in fast‑paced, product‑focused technology teams.

Required skills

• Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium
• API testing tools such as Postman, REST‑assured
• Programming/scripting in Python, Java, JavaScript or TypeScript
• SQL for database validation
• Git version control and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
• Performance testing tools like JMeter or k6
• Basic security testing knowledge (OWASP, Burp Suite)
