Senior Data Engineer (Kathmandu)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Kathmandu office on a full-time, on-site basis. The role focuses on building and maintaining robust data pipelines, modelling data structures, and supporting analytics initiatives across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise ETL processes to ingest and transform data from multiple sources.
• Create and maintain data models and data warehouse schemas that support reporting and analytical workloads.
• Collaborate with data analysts and scientists to deliver reliable data sets for dashboards, machine-learning models and ad-hoc queries.
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and performance tuning for large-scale data workflows.
• Work with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) to provision resources, manage storage, and ensure security and compliance.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in data engineering or related fields.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a comparable discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, SQL and/or Java.
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools and frameworks.
• Knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing and analytics concepts.
• Practical experience with cloud services such as AWS or Azure.
